save a life [Monday, July 18th, 2005@ 11:24pm] I'm reposting this: OK guys - if you could all take the time to read this, it would mean alot to me. Here's the deal: 2 weeks ago, me, Social Disease and some other friends went camping over in Marietta, GA. Fresh Meat got his car stuck and when I came out to get him, there was this abandoned dog just chillin out there. The poor dude (the dog, not Justin) was starved and crying, so we took him back to the campsite, fed him some hot dogs and tried to figure out what to do with him. When morning came around, nobody was really in a position to give him a good home, but I figured since I work at the Navy base, I had the best shot at finding him a place to live. I couldn't take him in myself because I am required to live in the barracks. Just my luck, no one at work wanted him either. The family he's staying with right now is transferring soon, and they don't want to take on another dog. Well, anyway, it's a week later and I took him to the vet, he's got all his shots and some anti-biotics for some minor infections he had. He's pretty skinny right now from being in the woods so long, but he's recovering nicely. He gets neutered tommorow. I really need to find this dog a good home with a yard for him to run around in. The world has turned its back on this guy, and he's got his whole life ahead of him yet - he's only a year and a half old. I will do anything it takes to keep him from a pound or a shelter, he deserves better than that. I've only known him a short time, and he's seriously one of the all around coolest dogs I've ever met - I honestly mean that - it's tearing me up to give him away. It's been extra difficult finding someone here in GA, because people in general don't regard animals as living things - they're objects. If you or someone you know can help him out and give him a loving home, PLEASE contact me. Ask your friends, repost this letter, do what it takes. I transfer to Panama City in the middle of August, I'll be there for 4 months. If it comes down to it, I am willing to pay money (at least $120 a month) for someone with a yard to care for him while I go to school - and I would pick him up on my way out of PC.
